Before becoming an entrepreneur, I spent 21 years working for the government, never seeing entrepreneurship as an option for myself. I worked to survive and felt like it provided security and stability for my family. Underneath all that I lacked the belief in myself that I was made for more, that I couldn’t put myself out there and be successful on my own. Then, Covid hit and my perspective changed just like that! For me, it was a catalyst for a lot of change that had been brewing under the surface, but I didn’t have the confidence to act on…yet! At the same time, my husband Alexander, a very talented dog trainer, decided he was ready to create his own business doing what he loved in a way that he felt was the most balanced and beneficial for his clients and their dogs. With my business skills and his dog training talent, Steady Hand Dog Training was born!
We are a group of dog loving, passionate and driven individuals who are on a mission to create balanced and lasting relationships between families and their dogs through lifestyle obedience training. Like human relationships, effective communication, trust, and respect are key to a peaceful pack. I think what I love the most about what we do, is that we get to be a part of our clients’ personal growth story. Our style of training involves mindfulness, leadership, and discipline, and the process allows owners to become different and improved people. It really is more than dog training! We love our clients and continue to build community through our shared love of dogs!
My husband and I also have a beautiful blended family with three daughters and have found such joy being present and active in their lives! I’ve always been someone who has played it safe, but secretly have a gypsy soul! I love loud music, road trips, all things dogs and coffee. I’m a huge fan of The Office, the beach, and Chinese food, but not in that order. This chapter of life is helping me build my confidence, find my tribe, define my purpose, and is allowing me to explore and grow into the person I choose to be!
